Don't lose your shirt, Yeovil!

Yeovil Town in their home strip. (You're fired. Ed - Upson)

After Crystal Palace's cheerleaders asked us to call them maybe last month, now here's something for the ladies to look at...

This is a squad photo as you've never seen one before from Yeovil Town. The League One club have not found a shirt sponsor for this season yet (and there are less than two weeks until it begins), so they've decided to go topless in their squad photo in a last-minute attempt to get one!

Manager Gary Johnson explained to BBC Somerset: "If we haven't got a shirt sponsor, then we can't wear the shirt.

"It is a little bit tongue-in-cheek and it was my idea for the staff to keep their shirts on."

This photo might be humourous, but it does have undertones of a more serious nature.

Yeovil, like a number of clubs in the lower leagues, are having to cut their coat to suit their cloth. Johnson doesn't have any transfer funds to spend, so he has had to rely on signing free agents this summer. And because of their lack of financial muscle or squad depth, the Glovers are among the favourites to be relegated to League Two.

Let's hope that some wealthy sponsors get Yeovil's message and support them through what could be a difficult season in the third tier.
